On the easternmost point of Lignano Sabbiadoro, there is an old lighthouse, recently restored, which was the reference point for sailors for many years.
To the left of the historic lighthouse, in more recent times, another one was built with the same architectural features and much further out to sea thanks to a long wooden walkway, which has become a suggestive vantage point from which to observe the intermingling of the waters of the Marano Lagoon and the Adriatic Sea.
At the Red Lighthouse on the occasion of the Summer Solstice on 21 June, a dawn concert is held, where seated on the sand one listens to the performance of a string orchestra as the sun rises over the sea.
